I just finished watching the excellent and enjoyable S1. This guy pings with the clarity of the lasers that shoot out of the supes' eyes. The plastic surgery adds to the gay look.
I love his character anyway love hate and think he's sinisterly sexy. I remember how unsettled I was by the TV show American Gothic's final scene where had a smile on his face. Seems to be an over-correction on his part. He looked slightly weathered before, but overdid it with fillers. I was inspired to go back and watch his NZ TV show where he plays twins in a family of con artists. He is very handsome and sexy playing both a beach bum frat boy and a polished lawyer.
I hadn't ever seen him before "the Boys," but it was clear to me in the first episode he has had fillers injected. I think he'd look handsomer without them, but it did seem very much in character for the Homelander. Obviously, despite his other powers, he's vulnerable to aging, and the Homelander is so vain he would obviously try to use whatever means possible to look young only how would they inject the fillers into his invulnerable skin?
I will say: I think Starr has been excellent in the role, and has added layers of depth to it that I think other extremely handsome actors who play superheroes Henry Cavill, Chris Evans, etc. It does fascinate me, though, that unlike them he has not made himself super-muscular for the part--he's fit, but he doesn't work out heavily, and they make him look super-muscular entirely through padding.
Of course that could be a bearding arrangement, but I'd doubt it somehow. He doesn't seem to want to be a big star--he's always been in the profession for the work more than for the fame or money, from everything I've read.
Antony Starr, known for
He seems very low-key and humble. The show is vile and massively disturbed. Too much heterosexuality is in it as well. It's for really fucked up bi men and bi women. R19, is that a cold sore on his lip?
